At the heart of the Costa Blanca, within the region of Valencia lies the ancient fishing village of Calpe. Now transformed into a tourist magnet, the town sits in an ideal location, easily accessed by the A7 motorway and the N332 that runs from Valencia to Alicante; its approximately one hour drive from the airport at Alicante.
A coastal town containing a mixture of high rise buildings in the main town area and beachside, contrasting with the character of the charming well preserved narrow streets of the old town.
Calpe has a wonderful mixture of old Valencian culture and modern tourist facilities. It is a great base from which to explore the local area or enjoy the many local beaches. Calpe alone has the most beautiful sandy beaches on the coast.
Calpe is an old established fishing port which is bounded by a number of first class fish restaurants offering the daily catch, plus an adjacent marina and nautical club. The fishing port and the famous Ifach Rock is the division between two excellent sandy beaches, both about 2 km long with very pleasant tree-lined promenades offering a selection of front line bars and restaurants to complement those in the main town. The lower and mid reaches of the hills forming a backcloth to Calpe provides the main residential area for individual villas, many with excellent views to the town and sea beyond.
